Joe, Stand Up, Joe! Let 'Em See Ya!
UPDATE: below:
03/23/2011: Anyone heard from Mr. "I teach separation of powers" Joe Biden today?
Here's what he said he and his experts believed, back in 2007 . . . that a Congressionally unauthorized attack on Iran would have been an "impeachable offense" unless we were attacked or unless there were proof that we were about to be attacked, and that he would have personally "led the effort" to pursue the matter and to seek the impeachment of the President.
Did you catch that? He told Chris Matthews,
"I want to stand by that comment. The reason I made the comment was as a warning."
Okay. Stand up, Joe! Let's hear from you about the military attack on Libya, the one that has no congressional authorization.
UPDATE: John Hinderaker at Powerline has now posted the video too. He notes wrily,
"I'm beginning to understand why liberals believe so fervently in a 'living' Constitution. They need it to change from year to year, depending on who is in office."
Indeed.
Labels: Congressonal authorization, Joe Biden, Libya, separation of powers, war powers
